The Deathbird Song

Salty air hangs on her every breath
Like wings on a bird of death
Casting shadows for miles
A siren song, steering my ship to wreck
Like an albatross round my neck
Deathbird song in her smile

A ragged sail strains on a broken mast
It's gloomy and overcast
The skies all gone wrong
A stormy sea, no friendly shore in sight
No warm-lit port in the night
Nothing left but her song

A sullen crew driven to mutiny
A plank laid in front of me
And they're making me walk
A polar star smirks as I sink below
Caught in the undertow
Nothing left but her song
